The staff is wonderful. They have a swimming pool. The room was clean. They have wonderful free breakfast . They have a make your own coffee bar, yogurt bar, and oatmeal bar. They also have waffles, cereal, pastries, bread, bagels, and fresh fruit. It is conveniently located and have car parking available. I felt safe in the area. It has all the convenience of a microwave, fridge, iron, dryer and coffee pods. The room was clean. I would definitely recommend staying here. The bathroom needs updating.
Older hotel (1950s/1960s?) in ideal location in downtown Portland. Parking is $13/night. Updated art depicting Portland history. Rooms updated and simple (very few outlets). Incredibly comfortable beds!
This hotel is very convienently located and we've enjoyed all 3 of our stays there so far with another one booked soon! We were so excited to find it has a pool! The pool is small but clean! Also breakfast included was wonderful even though it got very busy each morning and difficult to find a table. Thank you so much to the staff and management for all they have done to help us enjoy our stay!
I had a conference to go to on the Portland State University Campus. University Place was a suggested Hotel - great price. I travel a lot for my business, so expectations were, "Okay, it's a campus hotel..." Surprised and absolutely delighted is all I can say! Nice people at the front desk, got up to my room, and wow, it was so much larger than I thought it would be - huge. Jumped on the bed, "perfect." Mini fridge, microwave - you never know. Lighting in the bathroom was good (the make-up thing). A colleague was next door; nothing through the walls - serenely quiet. I never sleep well on the first night in a hotel. I had a great night's sleep. Morning, continental breakfast. Again far far exceeded expectations! So much to choose from and that staff was right there if anything was needed or ran low. Lovely restaurant area too. My last night, I ditched the conference and took myself out for a marvelous dinner downtown that Martin, the manager, recommended to me. If I were back in Portland for anything or anywhere, this is the only place I'd stay! No, really!
